NCB Chandigarh Zonal Unit observed Drug Disposal Day today i.e. 24.03.2023, wherein seized narcotics were destroyed in the presence {online} of Sh. Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister & Minister for Cooperation.
The event (Drug Destruction) was observed at Rainbow Environments Pvt Ltd, Mohali&during this event NCB Chandigarh Unit burnt 211.75 Kgs Poppy Straw/Poppy Husk& Powder, 5880 tablets of Diphenoxylate, 4.78 Kgs of Heroin & 6.1 Kgs of Charas which were seized by the NCN CZU in 09 cases of the year 2022.
Today various zones of NCB simultaneously conducted disposal of drugs throughout India namely Bangalore, Delhi, Chandigarh, Cochin, Jodhpur, Patna & Indore Zones. The Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah addressed the Regional conference on Drug Trafficking & National Security for Southern States /UT’s today at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Others present included, Sh. Mohinder Jit Singh, Assistant Director, Shri Rajneesh DSP Crime Chandigarh Police, Shri Varinder Singh, Superintendent, DRI, Chandigarh, Smt. Meera Kumari Meena, Superintendent and other officials of NCB Chandigarh Unit.
