Launch of STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024 in U.T. Chandigarh
Chandigarh, July 1, 2024 – The STOP Diarrhoea Campaign 2024 was officially launched in U.T. Chandigarh by Shri. Ajay Chagti, Worthy Secretary Health, U.T. Chandigarh, at the Pediatrics OPD at GMSH-16, Chandigarh.Alongwith Dr. Suman Singh, Director Health Services cum Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM).
In his address, Shri. Ajay Chagti, emphasized the need for unwavering commitment to the cause, highlighted the campaign’s objective of achieving zero childhood deaths due to diarrhoea.
Secretary Health also extended heartfelt congratulations to all doctors on the occasion of Doctor’s Day,
Dr. Suman Singh, Director Health Services cum Mission Director, NHM, expressed gratitude to the Secretary Health for gracing the occasion and congratulated the doctors for their relentless efforts in diarrhoea prevention and treatment.
She noted that these efforts have resulted in zero childhood deaths due to diarrhoea over the past two years, and urged the team to maintain this success in the current year as well.
During the launch, demonstrations of correct handwashing techniques and ORS preparation were conducted at the ORS and Zinc corner established at GMSH-16, Chandigarh.
All health facilities across U.T. Chandigarh are fully prepared for the campaign as part of the Prevent, Protect, and Treat strategy of the Government of India.
