Chandigarh, February 2, 2026: Former Municipal Councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali expressed his delight at the Union Budget 2026-27 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, calling it “a balanced and forward-looking roadmap for India’s economic future.”

Devshali said, “The Union Budget 2026-27 reflects a remarkable commitment to the principles of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ – inclusive development for all. This budget strikes an excellent balance between high capital expenditure and sustained economic growth, positioning India as a strong force in an uncertain global economic environment.”

The government has allocated ₹12.2 lakh crore as capital expenditure for the financial year 2026-27, a 9 percent increase compared to the previous year. This is the highest capital expenditure in the last 10 years. Commending this commitment, Devshali said, “Investment in infrastructure is the backbone of regional development. These funds will generate employment, strengthen connectivity, and transform Tier II and Tier III cities into economic growth hubs.”

Devshali emphasized, “These initiatives align perfectly with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat – a self-reliant India. By investing in strategic sectors, the government is creating sustainable employment opportunities and reducing India’s dependence on foreign imports.”

The budget doubles the credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs and startups, while also launching a special loan scheme of up to ₹1 crore for entrepreneurs from SC, ST, and women categories. Devshali added, “These projects will revolutionize connectivity between cities and promote agglomeration-based development. Such infrastructure development enhances our strategic importance and economic potential.” Devshali said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India) is clearly reflected in every aspect of this budget. This allocation demonstrates a clear strategy to strengthen India’s global position, while also ensuring that the benefits of development reach every corner of the country – from urban centers to rural areas, from startups to established MSMEs.”

The Union Budget 2026-27 presents an ambitious roadmap that addresses both immediate economic challenges and long-term structural needs. By prioritizing infrastructure, manufacturing, and inclusive growth, the Modi government has demonstrated its commitment to building a stronger, more self-reliant India.

Devshali congratulated Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for presenting a budget that is not only responsive to global economic pressures but also proactive in charting a course for sustainable prosperity. This budget deserves the support of all Indians who believe in the nation’s potential.
