Gurugram, 16 May: As part of its monsoon preparedness measures, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority conducted mock drills at the DLF Phase-1 underpass on Thursday and at the Shankar Chowk underpass on Friday to assess the operational readiness of the pumping machinery installed at these locations.
During the drills, water was released into the sump wells and the pumps were operated to check their efficiency and functioning. At DLF Phase-1 underpass, four 35 HP pumps were tested and found operational. At Shankar Chowk underpass, two 16 HP pumps and two 7.5 HP pumps were also checked and found to be functioning satisfactorily.

The mock drills were carried out successfully and all pumping systems were found operational, ensuring preparedness for quick drainage of storm water during the monsoon season. GMDA will be conducting similar mock drills across all underpasses in the city in coordination with the concerned departments to ensure seamless functioning of the drainage infrastructure during the monsoon period.
