Chandigarh, Kalibari Chandigarh is set to once again bring a vibrant blend of spirituality and culture to the city, this time in celebration of the Pran Pratishtha (installation and consecration) of Bhagwan Sri Ramakrishna. The sacred event is being held in conjunction with the Bengali New Year and the 56th Founder’s Day of Kalibari Chandigarh. A four-day celebration will take place at the temple premises in Sector 47, starting from April 12, 2025.

Addressing a press conference at the Chandigarh Press Club on Tuesday, Kalibari’s President Pranob Sen and Secretary Rajesh Roy shared that guided by the motto ‘Jagathitaya Cha’ (for the welfare of the world), Kalibari Chandigarh is undertaking the Pran Pratishtha of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa who is regarded as the divine child of Mother Kali and a symbol of religious harmony. This spiritual milestone is intended to infuse fresh energy into the organization’s long-standing spiritual and humanitarian initiatives since its establishment in 1970.

This auspicious occasion will be graced by revered monks from various Ramakrishna Mission centres along with distinguished dignitaries participating in a series of events, including a Bhakta Sammelan and a Bhakti Geet Conference.

The sacred Pran Pratistha ceremony will be led by revered Swami Shantatmananda ji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Gurugram and revered Swami Sukhananda ji from Ramakrishna Mission, Bhuj, who will serve as the Tantradharak (spiritual officiant of Tantric rituals).

Each day of the celebration will feature traditional rituals such as Kali Pooja, Mangal Aarti, soulful Bhakti Geet, and the distribution of Prasad, an authentic Bengali vegetarian feast specially prepared by invited chefs from Bengal.

Speaking at the event, Joint Secretary and Cultural Incharge Amrita Ganguly highlighted two key cultural presentations as the most remarkable features of the celebrations: a dance drama titled ‘Siddhartha to Buddha – The Divine Leela of Sri Ramakrishna’ and a Hindi theatrical performance ‘Divya Sparsh’. These productions promise to offer a compelling blend of artistic expression, spiritual depth and thoughtful reflection which is bringing together balance, pragmatism and critical thinking in a unique cultural experience.

Adding to the spiritual fervor, the event will also feature soul-stirring Kirtan Sangeet by renowned kirtaniya Padda Polash and his ensemble. Known for their deeply devotional renditions and emotive singing style, Polash and his team are celebrated for bringing alive the divine essence of bhakti through traditional Bengali kirtans.

On the concluding day, at the sidelines of Special Kali Pooja, Kalibari Chandigarh will organize a blood donation camp in collaboration with Max Hospital inviting citizens to contribute towards saving lives. In addition, a free medical and eye check-up camps will be held offering essential health screenings and consultations to benefit the local community.
