“Interactive Session on Recent Amendments in Goods and Service Tax – 2023

 

Chandigarh, December 13, 2023: Confederation of Indian Industry Chandigarh (CII) in association with strategic partner Tax and Trade Service Chandigarh organized workshop on “Interactive Session on Recent Amendments in GST- 2023” here today at CII Northern Region Headquarters at Chandigarh.

Session was inaugurated by Sh. Kumar Gaurav Dhawan [Commissioner CGST Jalandhar] & Smt. Rachana Singh [Additional Commissioner- CGST Audit Panchkula]. Later on other Guest of Honor’s for the session Sh. H.B.Negi [Pr. Commissioner CGST Chandigarh], Sh. Rajan Datt Commissioner- CGST Panchkula, Sh. B.S.Meena [Commissioner-Audit Chandigarh], Sh. Hamid Ganai [State Tax Officer- Srinagar] interacted with trade members, resolved their grievances and assured to put forth the trade suggestions with CBIC. Also, present were CS Arjun Tyagi [Regional Council Member-NIRC-ICSI], Sh. Sanjiv Aggarwal [MD- Scott EDil] and CS Vaibhav Gupta [Advocate-Punjab & Haryana High Court]  

CS Sanjay Malhotra (an eminent Indirect Tax Expert), who was the Keynote Speaker apprised trade members of recent amendments in GST during 2023,   developments at GST portal by GSTIN which has made tax compliance easier for taxpayers. Other speakers include Sh. Ajmer Singh Bisla [Sr Advisor- Indirect Taxes – CII] who shared process of due diligence of Suppliers to overcome issues of fake invoicing. Both Key Note Speakers shared that CGST officers & CBIC have always been supportive to implement the suggestions given by CII.

Young moderators Kanwalpreet Kaur and Ritika Malhotra presented the journey of 6 years of GST and proposed Road Map ahead for bringing in further Ease of doing business.

Trade members appreciated the Taxpayers facilitation and knowledge awareness session organized by Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Panchkula Commissionerate on regular basis.
