Haryana would launch the pilot project of Ayushman Bharat

Chandigarh, Aug 13 – From August 15,2018,  Haryana would launch the pilot project of Ayushman Bharat Haryana in 22 District Hospitals, one ESI and one medical college of the state. Besides this, a target has been fixed to open 24 such Wellness Centres by August 15, 2018 and 200 by the year end, in the state.
Announcing this here today, after presiding over a review meeting regarding Ayushman Bharat Haryana with officers of the department, the Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that  under the scheme, medical facility up to Rs five lakh would be provided to 15.50 lakh families, free of cost.
The Minister said that initially, this facility would be provided in government hospitals, which would later be initiated in empanelled private hospitals.  Under this scheme, all the beneficiaries would have letter from Prime Minister Office, through which they could avail of the services by showing the letter at hospitals.
He said that Ayushman Mitr would be deputed in the hospitals to guide and help the patients coming to hospital for treatment. For this purpose, 170 Ayushman Mitrs are being imparted training in Chandigarh. A team of Central Government is imparting the training to apprise them of their duties.
He said that the government has given approval for the construction of 400 Wellness Centres in the state, where patients would be provided with appropriate facilities.
Those present included, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Mr R.R. Jowel, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Mrs Amneet P Kumar, Director, AYUSH, Dr Saket Kumar, Director General Health Services, Dr Satish Aggarwal and others.
