Chandigarh, July 3:- K.K. Yadav, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today called a meeting of tricity regarding Animal Birth Control (ABC) (dogs) which was attended by Smt. Avneet Kaur, Joint Commissioner, MCC Mohali, Sh. Tejdeep Singh, Joint Commissioner, MCC and Ms. Payal Sodhi from PFA, Dr. Pardeep Visheshi, Medical Officer of Health & Dr. M.S. Kamboj, Superintendent Slaughter house, MCC.
During the meeting various issues were discussed and decided following:
- The Commissioner asked the concerned officers for strengthening of the Animal Birth Control (ABC) programme.
- Creating awareness among masses about sharing responsibility and involvement of citizens.
- Officers have been asked to chalk out a comprehensive plan to create awareness regarding ABC by involving NSS/NCC and other clubs in schools and colleges.
- MCC to write letter to the Mohali and Panchkula MCs for appointing nodal officers for comprehensive ABC programme.
- The commissioner asked the MOH to start challaning of violators of pet dog bylaws strictly.
- The MCC will organize campaigns/meetings with RWAs and MWAs regularly regarding ABC programme and anti rabies vaccination camps etc.
