Sargam Society & Aryans Group of Colleges organise “Ghazal ki ek Shaam”*

Sargam Society of Indian Music & Arts (Regd), Mohali & Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh in collaboration with Department of Cultural Affairs, UT Chandigarh organized a Musical Program in Randhawa Auditorium, Sec 16, Chandigarh. The event commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony & mementos were presented to Singers during felicitation ceremony.

 

The event was graced by Sh. Vinod Kumar, Lokpal Punjab as Chief Guest & Shashi Prabha Dwivedi, IPS, DGP Punjab preside over this evening. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman Aryans Group of Colleges, RD Kailey, Chairman, Sargam Society were also present.

Sh. Harish Gupta, MD Trishla city, Sh. M.P Gupta Music connoisseur, Sh. Sudesh Sharma, Chairman Chandigarh Sangeet Natak academy were special guests in the event.

Lokpal Punjab, Justice Vinod Kumar Sharma said thatGhazal singers have the power to move their audience emotionally and influence them to explore their intense feelings.He congratulated all artists on the occasion.

DGP Punjab, Shashi Prabha Dwivedi, IPS said that the popularity of ghazal singing has grown immensely in countries across the globe. The impact of ghazal on film, western and jazz music has been enormous and integral in the creation of new and amusing songs.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, President, Sargam Society & Chairman, Aryans Group while addressing all said Ghazal has achieved global prominence, and Indian artists have played a key role in its growth. More than music, the ghazal is a part of our rich and diverse cultural heritage and has shaped several new forms of music as well as enhancing the existing one.

RD Kailey, a trained singer mentioned that Ghazal Gayaki’, is an ancient form of singing with its origin in Arabia. Ghazal singers have the power to move their audience emotionally and influence them to explore their intense feelings.

On the occasion, Sucheta Mukhopadhaya sang “Dil hi to haina sang”, Sumit, “Jara si der”, Kulbhshan Bhatt, “Wahi Palon ka Jhapkana”, Poonam Dogra, ” Dil Dhardkane ka Sabab”, Vikram Sandhu, “Tumko Dekha to ye Khyaal”, Sushil Nagpal “Mai Hosh me tha”, Priyanka Singh, ” wo tere mare ishq ka”, Ananya Ganguly ” Chupke Chupke Raat din, Gurtaan” US Bewafa Sajan ka”, Gurdeep Singh “Ye kon aa gayi”, Riaan Singh, the youngest from singing team showed that the future belongs to such talented budding artists . He sang , “Itna toota hu ki”. Another attraction was Nancy who was superb in her performance of “Salona sa sajan hai”, Sushil Nagpal & Priyanka Singh “Naina tose lage” RD Kailey sang ” Hamara dil savere ka” and mesmerized all present. The Musicians were Keyboard Gurvinder Singh Lovely; Tabla, Rajneesh Dhiman, Ramesh; Octopad Guitar, Jaswant Singh Jassa & Anchoring by Bhupinder Singh Malik.
