To cut short the delays at Estate Office and Sub Registrar Office, the appointment slots were increased as under:
1. Appointment for submission of application in Estate Office to avail services were increased from 24 to 48
2. Appointment for registration of Deeds were increased from 50 to 60
Though the above changes have drastically reduced the waiting time and many applicants are getting appointment slots for next day itself but there is still scope of improvement. It has been observed that daily about 10 to 15 slots are going waste because many of the applicants are not utilizing the booked slots.
Reschedule the Slot
Now the NIC has provided an option for rescheduling and the applicant can reschedule the slot up to two days before the appointed dates. For example, any appointment slot for 10.01.2023 can be rescheduled upto 11.59 PM on 08.01.2023 for any other available date. The rescheduled slot can be chosen from all the available slots for other dates.
In case the applicant neither changes the slot nor appear on the appointed day then the applicant will be responsible for wasting the slot. It is being considered that as a penalty, such applicant should not be allowed fresh slot for next 07 days. In other words, if applicant does not utilize the appointed slot, then he may have to wait for another 07 days for fresh slot. However for the time being, this provision of mandatory wait for 07 days is not being implemented expecting that applicants will voluntary exercise the option of reschedule instead of wasting the appointed slots.
Considering that wait period for appointment slots is minimal now, all the applicants are requested to utilize the booked slots and in case they are not sure about their dates then they should not book the slots unless they get some clarity about their schedules. Further in case of any change in schedule, immediately change the appointed slot so that the previous slot can be availed by other applicant. Efforts are being made to ensure that there is no waiting and even the current appointment slots are available and the further applicants may walk-in anytime for these purposes.
