A live demonstration of the operation of various types of sewing machines was given, as was the use of various presser feet, such as the piping foot, ruffler foot, zipper foot, and so on. The workshop included many experiments and demonstrations of beaded strings, applique work, lace application, couching, and designs in circular patterns on various types of fabrics.
The three-hour session was completely engrossing, and attendees were curious about the types of work that could be done on these machines. Dr. Anu H. Gupta praised the efforts of the USHA International Ltd. team, who elaborated and demonstrated not one, but several machines in detail, and stated that such workshops definitely add to the students’ knowledge of the latest technology and trends in the fashion industry and help them become self-reliant and entrepreneurs.
