Tree Plantation Organised at Post Graduate Government College, Sector-46, Chandigarh

The NSS unit of the Post Graduate Government College, Sector 46, Chandigarh, organised a tree plantation in the college campus to commemorate Van Mahotsava. Prof. J.K. Sehgal, Principal of the college was the chief guest on this occasion. Prof. Sehgal inaugurated the plantation ceremony and motivated the students and faculty to be true conservationists by spreading awareness among masses about the role of plants for a sustainable world. He further added that “we should emphasize on the importance of not only planting but also nurturing plants”. Mrs. Anuradha Mittal, Dean and Prof. Sneh Sharma, Vice Principal of the college also graced the occasion. Saplings of Litchi, Gulmohar, Amla, Jammun and Mango provided by Deputy Conservator of Forest, UT Chandigarh were planted in the college campus. The plantation drive was organised under “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. The event was organised by NSS Program Officers, Dr.Siddhartha Kumar, Dr.Amanpreet Kaur, Ms. Pooja Gupta and Dr.Arvinder Singh
