Today a delegation of Chandigarh Residents Associations’ Welfare Federation Regd.
(Crawfed) under leadership of Chairman Hitesh Puri , Gen Secy Rajat Malhotra and Vice president Surinder Sharma met The Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh and handed over a memorandum seeking rollback of hiked water tariff in Chandigarh. Representatives of more than 10 RWA’s went along and handed letters related to issues like re-carpeting of roads, maintenance of parks, dark spots in parks/light not working, and many other issues related to MC’s various departments. After giving a patient hearing to the grievances of the members and discussing in detail all the issues, KK . Yadav said that proposal for relief in water tarif has already been forwarded to higher authority and we are hopeful that tarrifs will be reduced. He further stated that Park maintaince charges must be released regularly with salaries of MC staff . He even assured the Crawfed team that Park maintaince charges will also be increased from Rs 2.48 on priority as Mali’s working in Parks under RWA also are part and parcel of MC team.
