Thalassaemic Charitable Trust PGI-GMCH Chandigarh organised 276th Blood Donation Camp in Patel Market, Sector 15 Chandigarh.
68 voluntary blood donors registered for blood donation, 11 donors were rejected during medical examination before donation. Shri Kalra thanked Head of Department and staff of Transfusion Medicine Department, PGIMER for their cooperation in conducting this Camp. The Management Committee of the Trust appeals for regular blood donation by healthy individuals and generous donations for treatment of poor Thalassaemics.
Thalassaemia is a genetic blood disorder which induces chronic anemia. Regular Blood transfusion after 15-20 days is widely recommended treatment for maintaining optimal Hemoglobin level.
Thalassaemic Charitable Trust is organising blood donation camps and serving thalassaemics since 1985. Presently about 450 Thalasaemics are availing blood transfusion facilities in our two Day Care Centres in PGIMER & GMCH Chandigarh. Free medicines are also provided to poor patients by the Trust. .
