“Seminar was held at Hotel Shivalik regarding GST search, Seizure and fake invoices.
Aniket Sunil Talati President ICAI spoke on the practical difficulties faced in GST compliance and informed that when GST was implemented, it was expected by everyone that with this new tax system, there would be reduction in tax related disputes and the tax payer would get credit for the tax paid by them. (Input Tax Credit) will be available very easily. But the GST law is deviating from its original form and creating new problems for the taxpayers.
Ranjit Kumar Agarwal Vice President ICAI said that a very good arrangement has been made by the Government in the form of “Advance Ruling” to solve the problems under GST. Under this, taxpayers can seek clarification in certain specific cases by making an application. But since this explanation is given only by the officers of the department, therefore in most cases orders are issued by the officer taking care of the side of the government. For this reason, it has not been used much and many new controversies are arising due to this.
Almost all the members of Chandigarh Chapter ICAI were present on this occasion including CA Anil Kakkar Chairman Chandigarh Branch ICAI and CA Rachit Goyal etc.
