Under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 (Mission Poshan 2.0), Behavioural Change, at individual and community level, is an important component to achieve the desired goal of Suposhit Bharat. In pursuance of this objective, Rashtriya Poshan Maah is celebrated during the month of September every year.

Since the launch of Poshan Abhiyaan in 2018 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, 6 Poshan Maahs have been successfully celebrated across the country in convergence with multiple Ministries/departments across States/UTs. In UT Chandigarh more than 5 lakhs activities have been conducted during the celebration of six Rashtriya Poshan Maahs.

​​To chalk out the plan for celebration 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, in U.T., Chandigarh, a preparatory meeting held today i.e. 29th August, 2024 under the Chairpersonship of Ms. Anuradha S. Chagti, CSS, Secretary Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration with all the line department of UT Chandigarh. In Compliance to Ministry’s guidelines, It has been decided to undertake sensitization activities around the various Themes i.e. Anaemia, Growth Monitoring, Complementary Feeding, Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi, use of technology for better Governance. Apart from this plantation of trees under the Campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ and other general sensitization activities will also be taken up.

​​It has been decided that this Poshan Maah 2024 launch ceremony would be conducted on 31st August, 2024 with a special plantation drives under “Ek Ped Maa ke Naam” by all line departments.

Ms. Anuradha S. Chagti look look wise, Secretary Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration urged all the line departments for enthusiastically participate in celebration of 7th Rashtriya Poshan Maah and organizing maximum stipulated nutrition centric themes oriented activities with strengthened processes for community engagement, and empowerment of beneficiaries and communities at large.
