PGIMER, CHANDIGARH CCRYN-COLLABO ATIVE CENTRE FOR MIND BODY INTERVENTION THROUGH YOGA One day Workshop

CCRYN-Collaborative Centre for Mind Body Intervention through Yoga at PGIMER,
Chandigarh is organising a one-day Workshop on “Integrative Medicine: Bridging Science and Holistic healing for comprehensive care” on 22nd Feb 2025 under the guidance of
organising secretaries, Dr Pramod Avti and Dr Krishan Kumar Soni, and organising
chairman, Dr Akshay Anand and Dr Raghvendra Rao. This one-day workshop is designed to
explore the intersection of yoga and other integrative approaches, scientific research, and
holistic healing in an integrative manner.
The event will be inaugurated by the honourable Chief Guest, Dr B N Gangadhar, NMC
chairman, who has worked in field of integrative medicine and is currently, Emeritus
Professor at NIMHANS, Bengaluru and Former Director, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, India.
Inauguration will be held in the esteemed presence of the Guest of Honours, Dr Vivek Lal,
PGIMER Director, Chandigarh and Dr Raghvendra Rao, CCRYN Director, Ministry of
AYUSH, New Delhi. Dr Lal is enthusiastic about the event and said that “Yoga bridges the
gap between mind, body, and medicine—may this workshop inspire a deeper understanding
of its transformative potential”. Inauguration will be followed by a musical Yoga
performance. Inaugural team will also launch 3 books, namely Neuroscience of Yoga,
Vridhavastha me Kamar Dard ke liye Yogasana and Nature Beyond Nature. Neuroscience of
Yoga has two parts, where this book provides evidence based insights into the neuroscientific
underpinnings of Yoga and its impact on neuro-diseases. Book on low back pain educate
readers about what and how to practice Yoga for low back pain, especially in the geriatric
population which are evidence based. „Nature Beyond Nature‟, by experienced meditator Mr.
Rakesh Mittal, is an interesting perspective on physical, mental and spiritual progress.
More than 150 delegates have registered to attend the workshop. We are honored to have
guest speakers, who are renowned experts in integrative medicine and yoga therapy, namely,

Hospital Pune, Dr P N Ravindra Additional Professor at Centre for consciousness studies,
NIMHANS Bengaluru, Dr Bharat Krushna Khuntia Scientist at Centre of Integrative
Medicine and Research AIIMS Delhi. The entire session is designed to understand the
importance and challenges involved in generative evidences, evidence-based physiological
and psychological benefits of yoga and integrative medicine in stress reduction, sleep
improvement, emotional resilience, cognitive enhancement and achieving holistic healing. Dr
Sadasivan Pillai, Director, PNB Vesper Lifesciences, Kochi, Kerela, will also deliver talk on importance of Quality assurance in Yoga Research to enhance quality and reproducibility
research findings in the field of Yoga. Interactive session with experts is scheduled so that
participants can discuss how one can integrate yoga into daily life, how yoga can support
conventional treatments for chronic diseases and more.

healthcare professionals, wellness enthusiasts, Yoga therapists and Yoga practitioners with knowledge and tools to integrate yoga effectively into healthcare and daily life.
CCRYN yoga centre holds annual meetings on the subject, and is not only delivering
evidence based yoga sessions for HCWs on all OPD days but also spearheading over 5 yoga
research projects/clinical trials and 8 MD/DM thesis and 7 PhD thesis. Yoga centre is also
receiving patient referrals from various departments without any fee. Ministry of health has
recently shown interest in expanding the student wellness program to major higher institutes
of learning for alleviating stress and anxiety. Regular Yoga session is provided to patients
and care givers waiting for their turn to meet doctor and Cardiac and Eye centre by Yoga
instructors from Yoga centre on no cost basis. Yoga session is also given to care givers in the
evening behind Bhargava Auditorium, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
