National Girl Child Day celebration in St. Anne’s Convent School

St. Anne’s Convent School Chandigarh celebrated National Girl Child Day
on 24-01-2025 in the School campus.
To commemorate the event the Girl ambassadors adorned Pink turbans. Turban
(Pagri) is a symbol of honour and respect, especially in North India, PINK
colour represents compassion, nurturing and love. It relates to unconditional
love and understanding. In colour psychology, pink is a sign of hope. It is a
positive colour inspiring warm and comforting feelings, a sense that everything
will be O.K. An oath was administered to the students on Beti Bachao, Beti
Padao. The staff and the students took a pledge to eliminate gender-biased
discrimination that threatens the birth and survival of girls. They committed
themselves to ensure that girls are born, loved and nurtured to become equal and
empowered citizens of India. To give a clear and strong message of RISING
and EMPOWERED GIRLS a Candle March was also organised. Principal Sr.
Siji led the Candle March and addressed the girls to be more vigilant about their
rights. Sr. Siji urged the girls to be Dreamers, Achievers and Winners for a
bright future.
