National Defence College (NDC) study team calls on Governor of Punjab & Administrator, UT Chandigarh

Chandigarh, February 03:
The Study Team of 65th NDC Course of National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi called on Hon’ble Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh Shri Gulab Chand Kataria here today.

The visit was arranged as part of the annual course of NDC which aims to provide a deeper understanding of the social, political, economic and administrative system of India to the participating officers.
A 17-member Study Team of 65th NDC Course led by Commander NDC Air Marshal Hardeep Bains AVSM, VSM comprised military officers from India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Republic of Korea, Oman and Russia who are undergoing intensive training in the field of National Security and Strategic Studies.

On this occasion, Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria welcomed the study team of NDC and underlined their role in the National security of India. He highlighted the historical, social and economic aspects of Punjab and apprised about the issues related to the major policies, development initiatives of the State Administration.

The members of the study team also discussed internal security, agricultural economy, industrial development, border security and other important aspects of governance related to Punjab during their deliberations with the Governor.

It may be noted that the National Defence College (NDC) conducts a comprehensive course on ‘National Security and Strategic Studies’ every year, in which senior military and civil officers participate, including military officers from friendly countries.
The Principal Secretary to the Governor, Shri Vivek Pratap Singh and Shri Amit Dhaka, Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA), Punjab were also present on the occasion.
