Mohali ,February 12th,2024 : Rozgar Mela via Video Conferencing was held today at Indian Institute of Science and Research (IISR), Mohali. The Chief Guest for the event was Sh. Ajay Bhatt, Hon’ble MoS Defence and Tourism, Govt. of India. The 12th tranche of Rozgar Mela events was organised today at 47 locations across the country which was launched virtually by Prime Minister as he addressed the youth and congratulated all the newly appointed individuals through life telecast. Sh Yogesh Bahadur Khurania, IPS, Special DG BSF Western Command also apprised the gathering about sensitivity of the border under Western Command and the role of BSF in aid to the civil authorities.

Sh. Ajay Bhatt, Hon’ble MoS Defence and Tourism, Govt. of India handed over the physical copies of Offer of Appointment letters to all 306 candidates hailing from Chandigarh and adjoining areas , selected for various posts in Delhi Police, EPFO, Indian Railways, Indian Postal Services, CRPF, SSB, etc. besides issuing Offer of Appointment letters through Virtual mode.

Addressing the gathering,he reiterated PM’s commitment to provide ten lakhs jobs in government sector to the youth . He also said that new recruits would play a very pivotal role in propelling India forward towards a brighter and promising future. Sh. Ajay Bhatt also apprised the audience about the recruitment drive launched by Central Ministries and departments by filling existing vacancies against sanctioned posts in a mission mode through recruitment agencies like UPSC, SSC, Railway Recruitment Board, etc. The new recruits will join 38 Ministries and various departments of Central Government at various levels. He also reiterated that “Rozgar Mela” is an important step towards fulfilling the Prime Minister’s continued commitment to provide employment opportunities to the youth and ensure the welfare of the society.

 

The event witnessed the distribution of more than one lakh appointment letters to newly inducted recruits in Government departments and organizations via video conferencing. Prime Minister conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the newly appointed recruits and their families. Furthermore, he highlighted the government’s dedication to employment generation by emphasizing the regular organization of Rozgar Melas ensuring that more families will be appointed to government jobs in the future. The Prime Minister emphasized that the recurring Rozgar Melas have become a distinguishing characteristic of the current government, signifying the government’s commitment to realizing its resolution of providing 10 lakh government jobs and providing the youth with ample opportunities to realize the nation’s dream of ‘Viksit Bharat’. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi also highlighted that Rozgar Mela will provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their employment and participation in national development in the times to come.
In addition to the distribution of appointment letters, the Prime Minister also apprised the inducted youth to iGOT Karmyogi platform, which has more than 800 e-learning courses available for for government servants in an ‘anywhere any device’ learning format for these online courses to aid in their personal development alongside their official training and capacity building. He emphasized the importance of self-learning through technology and expressed his belief that it presents a valuable opportunity for the current generation. He also laid emphasis on the determination to keep learning and work towards nation building with utmost dedication.
Rozgar Mela is a major step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation. Rozgar Mela is expected to act as a catalyst in further employment generation and provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their empowerment and participation in national development.
