The Department of Public Administration in collaboration with the Department of Political Science, Department of Gandhian & Peace Studies, Department of Library and Information Science and Department of Philosophy, Panjab University, Chandigarh has organized an interaction with Mr. Sandeep Kumar, Founder and Director of an NGO “Open Eyes Foundation” on 24.08.2022 at 9:30 AM in the Seminar Room of the Department of Public Administration, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Mr. Sandeep Kumar is known as “Bookman of the Chandigarh” due to his exemplary work in the field of providing books to the under privileged children.
The Chairpersons of the collaborating Departments, faculty, staff, research scholars and students attended the interaction. Mr. Sandeep Kumar while addressing the participants narrated his journey and struggles of starting his NGO “Open Eyes Foundation”. He informed that Open Eyes Foundation is presently working on three major projects “Raddi se Shikha”, “Naya Savera” and “Rise Women: Be Periods Positive”. He further apprised the participants of the avenues available in joining Open Eyes Foundation and how they can contribute their services to these noble projects. He also informed the participants about internship opportunities available with Open Eyes Foundation and motivated the students to join Open Eyes Foundation as a Volunteer.
The interaction was followed by discussion and installation of 4 Book Donation Boxes in the Department of Public Administration and other collaborating Departments. The Chairpersons of the collaborating departments, faculty, staff, research scholars and students dropped their old and new books in the donation box. The donation boxes will be kept in the departments for the coming 10 days and anyone who is interested in donating books, stationary, bags and related items can drop the same in the boxes.
