Hospital & Heart Institute, Chandigarh organized a Free Medical Camp on 29th October 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to observe World Stroke Day 2025 and to spread awareness about Brain Stroke, a critical medical emergency.

A series of tests were conducted for stroke risk assessment of the dignitaries and attendees. A detailed and insightful talk on the understanding, assessment, and treatment of stroke victims was delivered by Dr. Suranjana Basak, Consultant Neurologist at Mukat Hospital.

Several patients were screened by the hospital’s Stroke Team, which included Dr. Tejas Sood (Critical Care Specialist), Dr. Mandeep Singh (Medicine Specialist), Dr. Ramesh Aggarwal (Surgeon), and Dr. Rashika (Physiotherapist).

The event was hosted by MyFM RJ Shailza, who engaged the audience and spread awareness about stroke in an interactive and light-hearted manner. The event witnessed an overwhelming response from participants, reflecting a strong community interest in preventive health initiatives.

Creating awareness about stroke plays a vital role in reducing stroke-related morbidity and improving the overall quality of life in society. Mukat Hospital continues to play a significant role in promoting public health education and awareness about this major health concern — where in India, two individuals suffer a stroke every minute, and one in five people is likely to experience a stroke in their lifetime.
