Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Bindal graces Convocation Ceremony at GGDSD College
1450 degrees conferred at the Grand Ceremony

As many as 1450 students, batch 2020-21, were conferred degrees during the 45th Convocation ceremony held at Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College, Sector 32-C, Chandigarh, today.
Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge Supreme Court of India, graced the occasion with his esteemed presence and awarded degrees to the students.
The Chief Guest, Justice Bindal, distinguished alumni of GGDSD college, while delivering the captivating convocation address, commemorated the college on completing fifty years. The efforts of the stakeholders were lauded for the long road college has travelled to grow into a premier institute of the region on the vision and mission of Karamyogi Pt. Mohan Lal Ji.
Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Bindal, while congratulating the students, mentioned that having a degree is only the first step on the road to success, students should develop an attitude of strong determination and hard work to meet the real challenge ahead. His Lordship asked the youth to respect their teachers and parents, since they are the ones who show the path to success in life. Justice Bindal emphasised on socio-cultural education of the students so that the base values of our society can be maintained.
His Lordship, while highlighting the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, said “Education lays the path to dharma” and further laid importance on the democratic nature of education. Justice Bindal called the gathering to follow the path of great visionaries such as A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, Winston Churchill and John F. Kennedy by sharing their beliefs and quotations.
His Lordship advised that being a part of the AI world, one should avoid getting wholly dependent on it and further stated that unlearning forms a major part of learning in later life.
President, GGDSD College Society, Ms Vaishali Sharma welcomed the Chief Guest Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Bindal. She urged to uphold the vision of the founders of GGDSD College Society and remembered the Late President’s mission for the college. She said, “Purpose of education is to succeed with knowledge you have gained and seek success with wisdom, integrity, humanity and spread peace and happiness around the world.” She expressed her heartfelt desire to all the students to succeed and make a difference in the world by manifesting your unique potential in the best possible way.
College Principal, Dr. Ajay Sharma welcomed the Chief Guest and hoped that the esteemed presence and the great achievements of Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Bindal would serve as a beacon for the students and inspire them in future endeavours. He congratulated the brilliant students, parents and august gathering on the completion of fifty years of college saga of excellence in all fields. While reading the Annual Report, he highlighted the various achievements of the college. He further stated that the college has lifted the Shadi Lal Overall Memorial Trophy for Men for the second year in a row. The college also won the Overall Trophy for Panjab University Youth and Heritage Festival Zone A for the 8th consecutive year. Besides getting top-listed in the ranking survey of top magazines of the country, the college received recognition from UGC Delhi and Ministry of Education.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Anirudh Sharma, General Secretary, GGDSD College Society followed by the National Anthem.
