Haryana Police tightened its grip on those demanding ransom
– In Fatehabad and Palwal districts, those accused of demanding ransom and threatening to kill were sent behind the bars.
Chandigarh 21 December. Haryana Police is making serious efforts to arrest people demanding ransom by taking strict action against them. Due to these efforts, four ransom-demanding accused have been arrested in Tohana, Fatehabad, and two accused in Palwal. A case has been registered against the accused in the respective police stations .
Giving information about this, the government spokesperson said that on December 17, the owner of a restaurant in Tohana market of Fatehabad received a call on his mobile number and the person on the phone claimed to be a member of an alleged gang and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. Demanded money and threatened to kill if the ransom was not paid. After talking on the phone, three motorcycle-riding boys opened fire at the shop and fled from there. In this case, the accused were identified based on CCTV camera footage and other evidence regarding the complaint received. In this case, Fatehabad Police arrested all four accused within 72 hours and put them behind bars. The bike used in the crime has been recovered from the possession of the accused.
Similarly, in another case, two accused demanding ransom of Rs 20 lakh were arrested in Palwal district. The accused approached businessman Shyamlal (fictitious name) in Tehsil Hodal of district Palwal on December 16 at 10:30 pm and two unknown persons demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh and threatened to kill the businessman. After this, unknown persons fired two bullets at the businessman’s office and fled from the spot. In this case also, the police acted promptly and arrested the accused within 24 hours. Further action is being taken while investigating this matter.
