Grand Display of National Unity: Over 10,000 People Participated in the Unity March Held in Chandigarh on Sardar Patel Jayanti

Chandigarh — On the birth anniversary of the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a grand and historic Unity March was organized today at Tiranga Park, Sector 17. More than 10,000 people enthusiastically participated in this event, including NSS volunteers, college students, representatives of various communities, and a large number of local residents. The chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Vande Mataram echoed across the area, filling the atmosphere with patriotism.

The chief guest of the event, Chandigarh Administrator and Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria, in his address, stated that Sardar Patel holds the highest place in building India’s integrity and national unity. He urged the youth to contribute actively to nation-building and highlighted that the country’s diversity is its greatest strength when embraced with unity.

Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh played a significant role in making this historic event successful. Chandigarh BJP President Jitender Pal Malhotra, Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, Solicitor General of India Sat Pal Jain, along with all BJP office bearers, senior workers, and thousands of karyakartas from across the city participated enthusiastically in the event.

A key highlight of the march was the presence of residents from various states in their traditional attire, presenting a vibrant display of India’s “Unity in Diversity.” Residents of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Kerala participated in their distinctive cultural dress. The traditional Garhwali attire of Uttarakhand residents drew special attention. Under the leadership of Uttarakhand Prakosht Convenor Bhupendra Sharma, a large number of Uttarakhand residents joined the march. Women adorned in Garhwali nath and traditional ornaments, along with the energetic beats of dhol-damau, made the event even more lively and culturally rich.

The grand foot march began from Tiranga Park and proceeded through the dividing roads of Sectors 17, 18, and 19, before concluding back at Tiranga Park. The massive participation of youth, students, women, and senior citizens affirmed that every citizen stands committed to India’s unity, integrity, and national consciousness.

Today’s Unity March was not only a tribute to the great contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel but also a magnificent symbol of India’s cultural diversity, patriotism, social harmony, and national solidarity.
