This is to bring to your kind notice that on 1st September, a matter regarding unexplained hypotension in intraoperative period with anuria and /or jaundice in post –operative period in few patients over the past few days, was brought to the notice of Medical Superintendent by two of the department heads. Immediately, an urgent meeting was convened which was duly attended by senior faculty from multiple departments.
Taking an extremely serious view of the situation, a high level committee was constituted by the Director, PGI under the chairmanship of Prof. S.K. Gupta, Head, Department of Neurosurgery, to thoroughly investigate this untoward incident. The Committee has already met twice and the final report is awaited from their end.
In the meantime, Drug Controller, UT Chandigarh and CDSCO, Baddi have also been duly informed to examine and fact find the case. Their reports are also awaited.
Based on the inferences of the awaited reports from all the quarters, an appropriate action will be taken.
