DETC held for taking Rs 50000 bribe
Chandigarh, Jan 12 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Raja Ram Nain, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (DETC) presently posted at DETC (Sale Tax), Bahadurgarh red-handed while accepting Rs 50,000 as bribe from an employee of a private firm for issuing GST certificate.
Sharing the details here today, a spokesperson of the Bureau said that arrested accused was dilly-dallying in issuing the GST certificate and then asked for a bribe. The employee of the firm, however, lodged a complaint with the State Vigilance Bureau, Rohtak.
Acting on the complaint, a team led by the Vigilance bureau laid a trap and arrested accused while accepting illegal gratification of Rs 50,000.
A case has been registered against him and further investigation is underway.
