A moment of pride for Panjab University.
A student of Panjab University, Rajat Kumar, who is pursuing a B.Ed Spl. Edu. (Learning Disability) from the Department of Community Education Disability Studies has been the winner of the “What an Idea” Startup Challenge organized by Innovation Mission Punjab and DBEE, Mohali, and Tynor. He won a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 for his innovative startup, “Digital Chokidaar.” Total participants in the 1st round were 742. He was one of the participants from 10 selected startups in the grand finale held on 12th April 2023 at Amity University, Mohali.The event was graced by the presence of Cabinet Minister Mr Aman Arora and MLA S Kulvant Singh.
The product “Digital Chokidaar” is designed to protect shop shutters by sounding a siren and sending alerts to the owner’s phone in case of any break-in.
Prof. Anuradha Sharma(chairperson) all the faculty and students of the department extended their heartist congratulations and praised the dedication towards his innovation, which was brought laurels to not only the department but to the university.
Prof Anuradha Sharma Chairperson said that he can be a role model and motivation to students to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams and start up in the area of teaching and learning for children with special needs.
