Institute of Correctional Administration (ICA), Sector 26, Chandigarh in Collaboration with National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Delhi organised a webinar on ‘Drug Abuse Prevention’ under‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA)’ for Prison Officers of northern states.
More than 50 prison officers of the rank of Assistant superintendent of Prison (ASP) to Superintendent of Prison (SP) rank from the states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Chandigarh participated in the webinar.
Ms. Nitika, NISD faculty gave a detailed presentation on drug use, abuse, and addiction. Besides, the drug use management strategies began with demand reduction, supply reduction and harm reduction.
Dr.Upneet Lalli, head coordinator (Training and Research), ICA,Chandigarh concluded and informed the prison officers to work in coordination with various agencies to control the increasing problem of drug abuse inside prison and in general as well.
