Chandigarh 10th August 2018 : Smt Vijaya Rahatkar, National President of the Bharitya Janata Party Mahila Morcha, addressed the media in a press conference at the State Head Quarters of the Chandigarh BJP in Sector 33 Chandigarh today.
Her visit to Chandigarh was a part of her mission to further rejuvenate the mahila karyakartas of the party for the 2019 general elections. She said that the more than 3 crore mahila karyakartas of the party are committed to the aim of absolute majority of the party in these elections. While there will be some booths that are exclusively ‘manned’ by the women on every booth of every constituency being contested by the party there will be at least 10 karyakartas of the mahila morcha.
She informed the media persons of the schemes launched by the Modi government that have benefitted the women extensively. Ujwala yojna, which has benefitted more than five crore families, has wiped the tears off the faces of the rural women.
More than 8 crore Muslim sisters are new free of the fear of the Triple Talaq Domocles sword and live a life of dignity.
Crores of working women will be benefitted by the increase in the maternity leave to 26 weeks. This will ensure better health for both the mother and the new born. This adds to the monetary benefit of Rs.6000 already given to expectant women.
Strengthening of the POCSO Act showcases the sensitivity of the government towards atrocities against women particularly minor children where the perpetrators of such heinous crimes can even be sentenced to death.
Even the other schemes of the government such as Constrictions of Toilets, Mudra yojna, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, Skill Development are ensuring a dignified life for the women of the country.
