UT boys lost to HP by four wickets in a Vinoo Mankad Trophy match

Chandigarh, An unbeaten 92 run partnership from Satvik Katoch and Arnan Jamwal proved costly for UT boys as Himachal Pradesh recovered well to win the match by four wickets at the ongoing Vinoo Mankad Trophy league match played at PCA Mohali on Thursday.

Earlier, Chandigarh won the toss and decided to bat first. The team led to a cautious start by adding 95 runs in the first twenty overs. Rupesh Yadav (36) and Ishan Gaba (15) lost their wickets with 120/2 on the board. Thereafter,a partnership of 49 runs between skipper Balraj Singh and Rudra Patial helped for a good recovery and hoped for a decent total. But after the dismissal of Balraj (87), Chandigarh’s innings collapsed and apart from Rudra Patial (42), no middle and tailender batter could challenge the opposition.  UT lads bundled out for 244 in the 50th over. Lakshya Thakur and Arnan Jamwal took four wickets each.

In reply, Chandigarh’s bowlers tightened the situation with 20/2 on the board. Later, Naunihal and Arpit Singh gave momentum to the team with a partnership of 86 runs and steered their innings to beyond 100. But once again bowlers made a comeback in the match and dismissed six batters  for 153 runs. Later, Arnan (68) and Satvik (48) led from the front for a magnificent partnership to stole the victory in 49th over.
