University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized its Induction Program for MBA courses on Tuesday, 09th July, 2024.

The University Business School welcomed around 180 students in its Post Graduate Programs offered as Master of Business Administration (General), Master of Business Administration (International Business), Master of Business Administration (Human Resource), and Master of Business Administration for Entrepreneurship.

Prof. Parmjit Kaur, Chairperson, University Business School extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest Mr. Sunil Dutt, President at Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited and Guest of honor Mr. Ashwani Prashara, Chief Human Resource Officer – Hydrocarbons at Reliance Industries Limited and Dr. Sachin Gulati, Head of India Campus Recruitment along with thanking them for their valuable presence on the occasion.

In her welcome speech, Prof. Parmjit Kaur briefed about the strong foundations of UBS committed to nurturing the next generation of business leaders and the importance of conducting an Induction Program every year where she emphasized on the opportunities for its students to enhance their understanding of economic, social and political environment to broaden their horizon not only to adjust to change but to become catalyst, and to develop their power to conceptualize. She ensured the students that throughout their time here, they will be exposed to a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum designed to challenge your intellect and broaden your perspectives. Our faculty members, who are experts in their respective fields, will guide you through a rich array of courses, case studies, and experiential learning opportunities that will deepen your understanding of business concepts and sharpen your problem-solving abilities.

The Chief Guest, Mr. Sunil Dutt, President at Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited with over 30 years of experience and an illustrious alumnus of UBS as enlightened the gathering regarding such Induction Program and he stated that this is crucial to create a strong network that benefits those graduating from the institution. He said such events should be held each consecutive year to help the department to generate value from the industrial resources. He added that UBS has an unwavering dedication to providing a transformative educational experience. By instilling a sense of purpose, knowledge, and practical skills, the institute strives to empower students to become ethical, innovative, and socially responsible leaders in the business world. He quoted the poetry of George Bernard Shaw and said live, love, learn and succeed in the moment. Being an Alumni, that is imperative to pay back to the system that made us what we are today. He has been a source of immense inspiration for all of us.

Mr. Ashwani Prashara, Chief Human Resource Officer – Hydrocarbons at Reliance Industries Limited with over 32 years of global experience and a distinguished alumnus of UBS,addressed the new MBA batch and wished them the best for their journey ahead with the UBS fraternity. His achievements and dedication serve as a profound source of inspiration for all of us.He emphasized on the importance of integrity in life and suggested seven crucial words of wisdom namely commitment, courage, conviction, competence, perspective, passion, and persistence. He encouraged the students to indulge in other curriculum activities.

Dr. Sachin Gulati, Head of India Campus Recruitment with over 20 years of diverse experience also graced the event. Providing valuable insights fromhis experience of the industry, he shed light on the current industry demands, how colleges and students should cope-up with new challenges, and the importance of soft skills, and technical skills which are necessary to make the students industry-ready. His insights into preparing for the future, up skilling, and striking a healthy work-life balance have been invaluable to the students of UBS. He congratulates the students for their new academic journey.
