U.T. Chandigarh, 04th September 2024: Under the ongoing POSHAN Maah 2024 in Chandigarh, a community-based event “Annaprashan” was held at the Anganwadi Building in Indira Colony, where mothers of infants aged six months were introduced to complementary feeding. The session, led by the Area ANM, provided essential guidance on starting solid foods.
In Palsora, an informative session on health, hygiene and sanitation was delivered by Dr. Pooja, Medical Officer-RBSK, to children and their mothers which was graced by the team from Ministry MoWCD Sh. Sarwesh Kumar Arya, Joint Secretary (Sambal) and Sh. Lalit Grover, Under Secretary (Sambal). At GMSH-16, Dr. Anuradha from the NRC Department addressed anemia prevention and the benefits of a balanced diet amongst the people.
A lecture on anemia was organized at the Anganwadi Centre in Burail. Dr. Gurpreet Singh, alongside ANM Ms. Kanchan, addressed nursing mothers, pregnant women, and adolescent girls. This event is a part of the broader POSHAN Abhiyaan initiative, which aims to tackle nutritional challenges and improve well-being across our community
