Two-Day National Research Seminar Organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra Concludes
The two-day seminar organized by the Pracheen Kala Kendra, held at Punjab Kala Bhawan, concluded today on a high note. The concluding day featured two sessions in which participants from all over the country presented their research papers. The main objective of the seminar was role of music, dance, and fine arts in the development of society.
During the seminar, Prof. Premila Gurumurthy, former Vice Chancellor of Tamil Nadu Dr. Jayalalithaa Music and Fine Arts University, Chennai, shared her valuable insights with participants through a lecture demonstration. Other dignitaries, including Prof. Lavanya Kirti Singh Kabya, Head of the Music Department at Lalit Narayan Darbhanga University, and Prof. Pankajmala Sharma, as well as Dr. Shobha Koser, Registrar of the Kendra, extended their blessings and congratulated the Kendra for the success of the event.
Renowned tabla maestro Pandit Sushil Jain (Chairperson) and Dr. Arun Mishra (Chairperson) including Guest speakers renowned tabla exponent Dr. Jagmohan Sharma, Dr. Mahendra Prasad Sharma, Mr. Manglesh Sharma, Dr. Rahul Swarnkar, and Dr. Gaurav Shukla contributed their extensive knowledge to the seminar.
Dr. Rajesh Kelkar, Head of the Music Department at MSU University, Baroda, was also present on the occasion. Kendra’s Secretary, Sh. Sajal Koser and the seminar’s coordinator, Pandit Devendra Verma, honored the above mentioned esteemed personalities with uttariya and mementos.
Following the honors, many participants presented research papers on various topics related to music and art, both offline and online. Topics included “Raga and Taal in Indian Music,” “Time Theory of Ragas,” “Music in the Vedas and Puranas,” “Laya Layakari and Taal,” “Tribal Folk and Spiritual Music,” “Various Dance Forms,” and “Dimensions of Music and Art Education etc.” The second day of the seminar was primarily dedicated to the classical arts, Indian traditions, and cultural heritage.
The event was further enriched by the melodious sitar performances by talented Dr. Vinita Gupta and Bhairavi Bhatt, while the tabla performance by Dr. Mahendra Prasad Sharma was also met with great admiration.
The main objective of the seminar was to engage in an in-depth discussion about the role of arts in the upliftment of society. It also highlighted the importance of promoting the arts and their impact on society.
Overall, the seminar was a success in achieving its goals. The organizers, Pracheen Kala Kendra, deserve appreciation and congratulations for hosting such a meaningful event. Sh..
