Two-Day 8th Emerald Taekwondo Championship 2025 Concludes Successfully

Chandigarh, May 26, 2025: The two-day 8th Emerald Taekwondo Championship 2025 concluded with a grand award ceremony at Carmel Convent School, Sector 9. A total of 500 players aged 3 to 17 from various branches of the Emerald Martial Arts Academy showcased outstanding skills and sportsmanship.
The final day was graced by Chief Guest Surender Verma, Chairman of the Citizen Awareness Group; Ramesh Goyal, Managing Director of KBD; Bhupinder Sharma,Chairman, Uttrakhand Cell, BJP Chandigarh and social worker Madhulika Syal . Organizers Master Shivraj Gharti (6th Dan Black Belt, Korea) and Master Kavita Rai Gharti welcomed the dignitaries with floral bouquets.
The guests praised the players for their enthusiasm, discipline, and sportsmanship, and lauded the Academy’s consistent efforts in fostering the all-round development of children.
While speaking on the occasion, Surender Verma, Chairman of Citizens Awareness Group, said, “When I received the invitation to join this event as Guest of Honour at Carmel Convent School, I was thrilled to accept it, as both my daughter and daughter-in-law studied at this very school. It was a proud moment to see such discipline and confidence in young children. I congratulate the students for their exceptional performance and appreciate the organizers, Master Kavita Rai and Master Shivraj Gharti, for the well-organized prize distribution function and their efforts in holistic child development.”
Participants competed in events such as Taekwondo Fight, Breaking, Speed Kicking, and Poomsae. Winners were honored with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals by the dignitaries.
During the Annual Award Ceremony, players who excelled at national and international levels received special honors. High-performing students from various academy branches were also awarded the ‘Student of the Year’ title.
On this occasion, organizer Master Shivraj Gharti remarked, “Our aim is not only to develop sports skills but also to promote discipline, confidence, and leadership qualities. We want our players to bring glory to the country on international platforms.”
