The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is celebrating “Swachhta Pakhwada” from 16th June 2024 to 30th June 2024 under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The celebration will span across India, including all field offices of MoSPI, as part of the aforementioned campaign.
Accordingly, the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Chandigarh, celebrated “Swachhta Abhiyaan” and “Statistics Day” on 29th June 2024 under the leadership of Sh. Kailash G. Sharma, DDG, RO Chandigarh, to raise awareness on various aspects of “Swachhta Pakhwada” such as cleanliness drives in public places, conservation of water bodies, sanitation, health/hygiene, and environmental issues in Chandigarh. On this occasion, a series of activities were undertaken by NSSO, Chandigarh.
The day commenced with a small Nukkar play at Rose Garden, Sector 16, to raise public awareness. Biodegradable bags and millets were distributed at GMCH-16 to promote healthy living and awareness among the public. Following this, a cleanliness drive was conducted behind the premises of Kendriya Sadan. Lastly, Statistics Day was celebrated in the conference hall of Kendriya Sadan.
The day was marked with great enthusiasm by the staff of RO Chandigarh. Activities such as Nukkar plays, cleanliness drives, distribution of biodegradable bags, and millets were conducted. Approximately 78 officers and officials participated with full zeal, making the event a grand success. The celebrations garnered positive feedback from the public, who expressed a desire for similar activities in the future.
