The Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration and Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee organized ‘EcoFEST 2023’

The Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration and Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee organized ‘EcoFEST 2023’ at the college premises of DAV College, Chandigarh. The Event aims to promote Mission LiFE; promoting sustainable life practices. The event had a plethora of activities to promote, showcase & felicitate various initiatives in environment conservation.
The chief guest for the event was Mr. T. C. Nautiyal, Director of the Department of Environment, Chandigarh & Member Secretary, CPCC. He emphasized the role of youth in conserving our environment.
Guest of honour was Prof. Navdeep Goyal, Senator, Panjab University. Keynote speaker for the event Dr. Madhuri Rishi, Associate professor, Department of Environment, delivered the keynote address & emphasized the significance of LiFE (Lifestyle for environment).
Dr. Samrat Ghosh, IISER Mohali delivered an interesting talk on green crackers & demonstrated live innovative, smoke free, green crackers.
Dr. Meenakshi Jatayan, Assistant environment engineer, gave an expert talk on plastic & E-waste management.
Dr. Rhythm Aggarwal, Assistant Environment Engineer, disseminated information on single use plastics.
Mr. Neeraj, Joint Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, also graced the show.
Eco-warriors from and around Chandigarh were felicitated for their eco-friendly practices. Eco-exhibition was also organised in which many NGOs & individuals arranged a display of eco-friendly products and practices in the campus. Prof. Rita Jain ma’am, principal of DAV College, Chandigarh congratulated the organizers Dr. Anjali Sharma, Dr. Neelam Sidhu & Prof. Uday Bhan Singh for the successful execution of the event.
