This is a first pandemic since the evolution of intervention cardiology. How practice of intervention cardiology has saved patients during this pandemic was also discussed and it was decided to propagate these ideas further. Also during previous pandemics like in 2001 (Ebola), 2002 (SARS) 2005 (Avian Influenza) 2009 (H1N1) and 2013 (MERS) how Department of Cardiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh has managed patients of acute coronary syndrome cardiogenic shock and various co-morbidities was discussed. This knowledge was shared at various national and global levels regarding the strategy in the management of acute coronary syndrome patients even before the autopsy reports of patients who have died with covid was published.

The message to the public was propagated on this important day that all patients with Covid who have cardiac involvement should take dual anti platelet and select patients with evidence of hypercoagulable state should take oral anti coagulant at discharge should be considered.  Also drugs which cause cardio protection should be taken by the patients who have contacted covid-19 infection.  Also for cardiac patients and general public it was advised to take adequate corona prophylaxis like Vitamin C, Betadine gargle and various other measures by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
