The governing body meeting of state CAMPA ( Compensatory afforestation fund management and planning authority) of Chandigarh was held under the chairmanship of Shri Banwarilal Purohit Hon’ble Administrator UT Chandigarh at Raj Bhawan on 28 December 2022 in the presence of Shri Dharam Pal ,Adviser.
Sri Debendra Dalai Chief Conservator Forest made a detailed presentation of various activities under this scheme which includes compensatory afforestation for all those projects where forest land of Chandigarh has been diverted for various other non forestry purposes. It was informed to the governing body that fund received from National authority is being utilised for raising and maintenance of various plantations.
Shri Banwarilal Purohit appreciated the commitment and effort of the department for raising few exemplary plantation under CAMPA and further stressed that complete transparency needs to be maintained in all our actions to win over the confidence of the society.
The CCF further informed that monitoring of these Compensatory Afforestation also being done by the department as well as through Forest Research Institute, Dehradun
The meeting was also attended by Shri Nitin Kumar Yadav Secretary Forests, Shri Vijay Zade Finance Secretary and Shri Arulrajan IFS Conservator of Forests.
