Shifting of occupants of Pre-Fab Shelters in Sector-52 & 56 to Maloya
Chandigarh.23 October,2020:The Chandigarh Administration has decided to re-locate the residents of Pre-fab shelters in Sector 52 & 56 to EWS flats constructed by Chandigarh Housing Board in Maloya-I. The project will be implemented under the Affordable Rental Housing Complexes (ARHCs) Scheme, formulated by the Government of India. The allottees will be required to pay monthly rent of Rs. 3,000/-, which will be increased biennially by 8%. The total rental period will be for maximum 25 years.
2. A Public Notice was issued on 15.10.2020, inviting objections with regard to the list of occupants uploaded on the official website of the Chandigarh Housing Board. The last date for submission of objections was 22.10. 2020.Total 508 objections have been received and its status is as under:
i. Total 405 objections have been accepted. The claims and objections in the nature of error in data entry regarding correction in Name Spelling, Phone No. and Aadhaar Number etc. have been accepted and needful corrections have been made in the list. Similarly, the locked prefab shelters where the single claimant has submitted documentary proof like Aadhaar Number/Driving License Number etc. about the occupancy of the particular prefab shelter have been included in the list.
ii. Remaining 103 objections were placed before the Committee of the Senior Officers for consideration. The Committee has rejected 09 objections and the balance 94 objections are under consideration for early appropriate decision.
3. Based on above, an updated revised list of the occupants has been uploaded on the website of the Chandigarh Housing Board i.e. www.chbonline.in. This revised list is subject to further modification based on the decision of the Committee about pending objections. The final list of occupants will be uploaded in due course.
4. A camp is being organized at the CHB premises in Sector-9D w.e.f. 26.10.2020 for the occupants of Pre-Fab Shelters.
i. 06 counters will be set up at the CHB premises. The timings of the camp will be 09.30 am to 05.30 pm with lunch break from 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm. For better compliance of the COVID related protocol, the applicants will be called in staggered manner.
ii. Three Notary Public and three Stamp Vendors will be available during the camp so that applicants get the facility of documentation and attestation at one place.
iii. Application forms, with instructions, will be distributed one/two day before to those occupants who are to be called for camp on the particular day. The distribution will start from 24.10.2020.
iv. The payment of Rs. 4,000/- (Rs. 500+500+3,000) against part-security for water &electricity connections and one month rent for flats at Maloya-I will be collected at the Camp. CHB may collect the amount of Rs. 4,000/- against a single receipt and transfer the related part-security amount to Municipal Corporation and Electricity Department subsequently. The officials of MCC and UT Electricity Department will help and supervise the filling of application forms for water and electricity connection.
5. Computerized draw for allotment on rental basis will be made in the groups of 32/64/96 (One block having 32 flats) in such a way that Pre-Fab shelters are vacated from one side and after handing over of possession of flats, the Pre-Fab shelter are demolished simultaneously. The result of the draw will be pasted at the particular group of Pre-Fab shelter at least three days before the actual shifting, so that the occupants have sufficient time for packing of their belongings.
6. Arrangements are also being made at Maloya-I for handing over possession of the flats w.e.f. 15.11.2020. The officers from the Municipal Corporation and Electricity Department, UT Chandigarh will join for release of the water and electricity connection on the day of possession itself.
