ROTT0 PGIMER spearhead Organ Donation Awareness i nitiative at PG Government College for Girls, Sector 42
The Regional Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (ROTTO) PGIMER took a significant step towards fostering awareness on organ donation by organizing a ‘Counselling cum Pledging Camp’ alongside voluntary blood donation camp at Post Graduate Govt. College for Girls, Sector 42 today.
Aimed at educating and motivating students and faculty about the importance of organ donation and dispel myths surrounding the process, ‘Counselling cum Pledging Camp’ was organised under ROTTO’s Student Engagemnt Programme, ‘Be the Change, Be an Organ Donor,’ which witnessed 27 students and staff pledging for organ donation.
Expressing her happiness at the positive turnout at the Camp, Prof (Dr). Nisha Aggarwal , Principal, Post Graduate Govt. College For Girls, Sector 42 said, “Organ donation is a noble cause that has the potential to transform and save lives. By educating our students and faculty, we are contributing to creating a more informed and compassionate society.” The Principal lauded the efforts of the ROTTO PGIMER and evinced interest in organising more such awareness initiatives in future.
Prof. Ashok Kumar, Acting Nodal Officer, ROTTO PGIMER, expressed his gratitude for the enthusiastic participation and interest shown by the students and faculty. “Organ donation is an act of humanity that transcends individual lives. It is heartening to witness the engagement and curiosity of the young minds at Government College, Sector 42. Their awareness and support can play a pivotal role in building a culture of organ donation.”
The counsellors from ROTTO, Gurpinder Singh and Ritika, provided valuable insights into the critical need for organ donation and the positive impact it can have on saving lives. They also emphasized the power of every individual to make a difference by choosing to be an organ donor, while addressing the concerns of the students and faculty visiting the camp.
ROTTO PGIMER is committed to continuing its efforts to raise awareness about organ donation and bridge the gap between the demand and supply of organs. The organization encourages everyone to
consider becoming organ donors and to have open conversations with their families about this life-saving decision.
