Regarding Fraud Calls
We have been informed that some criminal and anti-social elements are attempting to reach out to the public, on behalf of the Passport Office and demanding money purportedly on behalf of the Passport Office.
It is reiterated that the Government of India has not authorised any agent for any matter relating to passport, neither is any payment of charges (over and above the passport fees given on passportindia.gov.in) legal.
Please report any such calls that you receive to the local police after noting the number and any details that the callers leave with you.
