Chandigarh, August 9:
The Sports Minister, Punjab, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi today flagged off the India U-12 team for the BFA Asia Cup tournament scheduled to be held in Taiwan from 13th-19th August, 2018.
In the flag off ceremony held at the Panjab University grounds here, the minister gave his blessings to the team and wished it all success and glory in the tournament. The minister on the occasion disclosed that the Punjab Government is fully committed to providing all amenities to the players of the state so as to help them attain success at both National and International level thus restoring the glory of Punjab in sporting arena.
Earlier, the Coach of the team Mr. Pramod Sharma, Syndicate Members Mr. Varinder Singh Gill and Dr. Ajay Ranga, Senator Mr. Amit Joshi, Prof. Jaskaran Singh Brar, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, and Ex-Joint Secretary ABFI Mr. Arvind Kumar welcomed the Sports Minister Rana Sodhi and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh—-Captain Sandeep Sandhu. On the occasion, the manager of the team Mr. Manoj Kohli was also present.
It is worthwhile to mention that the top 3 teams from the tournament would qualify for the World Cup.
