Programmes on digital literacy, financial inclusion / literacy conducted by RBI, Chandigarh during the 52nd Rose Festival
During the 52nd edition of Rose Festival 2024 hosted by Chandigarh Administration from February 23-25, 2024, Reserve Bank of India, Chandigarh Office spread awareness amongst the general members of public about the Central Banking functions, various aspects of cyber security, cyber fraud prevention measures, customer protection, financial literacy, and financial education. Shri Vivek Srivastava, Regional Director for Punjab, Haryana and UT of Chandigarh inaugurated the RBI stall named “RBI kehta Hai”. The stall displayed various financial awareness related messages via offline / digital mode. RBI officials interacted with the general public and answered queries of the public regarding financial literacy, cyber awareness and security among various other topics.
The Chandigarh Regional Office of Reserve Bank of India has its jurisdiction over Punjab, Haryana, UT of Chandigarh and as also Himachal Pradesh in certain functional wok area. RBI has been in the forefront of spreading financial literacy and awareness among members of the public and its officers and employees directly participate in events at the grass root level to spread the relevant message.
The stall was well received by young students of various colleges and people applauded the efforts made by RBI, Chandigarh. The highlight of the day was the ‘Nukkad Natak’ on digital literacy, financial inclusion /literacy presented by RBI’s employees, which was well appreciated by the public. Other interactive programmes like quiz sessions garnered maximum attention from the general public and prizes were distributed to the winners. This was the first time that RBI participated in the much-coveted Rose Festival.
