PGIMER Interventional Radiology Team Shines at National Conference
In the just concluded Silver Jubilee conference of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) held at Kochi, the Interventional Radiology (IR) team of PGIMER won several awards and honours, said Prof Paramjeet Singh, Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis. The department has been at the helm of minimally invasive image-guided procedures for more than three decades now.
Prof Naveen Kalra was honoured with the ISVIR Gold Medal for the year 2025 for his contribution to the field of IR. He was also honoured for his contribution as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Interventional Radiology (JCIR), the official journal of the Society. Dr Ujjwal Gorsi, Dr Pankaj Gupta and Dr Harish Bhujade were given the best reviewer awards for the journal. Dr Pankaj Gupta also won the best poster award. Dr Harish Bhujade was elected as Executive Member of the Society.
The DM students, Dr Siva and Dr Akshay, won the national quiz after defeating several teams from across the country in a tough closely fought interactive session. The Institute was amongst the first ones in the country to start the DM course for IR and trains two students each year, said Prof. Mandeep Kang, coordinator of the course.
