Various financial experts of the Chandigarh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party jointly watched and analysed the finer aspects of the union Budget at the State Headquarters “Kamalam”, of the party at Sector 33 Chandigarh, presented by the Central Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman in the Lok Sabha, Prominent among those present were State Spokespersons Kailash Chand Jain & Dr. Dharinder Tayal, Secretary Gajendra Sharma, members of the party CA Cell, Ravinder Garg, Taresm Garg, Mukul Bansal, Ashwani Gupta, Apnav Bansal, Pushpinder Duggal, Uma Kant Mehta, Vishal Puri, Navneet Gupta, members from the Trade and Industry Rakesh Aggarwal, Avi Bhasin, Manish Nigam, Om Aggarwal, Pramod Sharma, Baljinder Gujral and members of Crawford Hitesh Puri and Aneesh Garg.
All members present unanimously appreciated the budget and extolled the growth orientation of the budget. They thanked the Finance Minister for presenting a budget that will spur atamnirbharta and gave a fillip to the economy of the country. All members of the party appreciated the 6 Pillar Format of the budget which clearly gave an understanding of the thought process and priorities of the Government.
Upon analyses it was agreed that the emphasis of the budget is on economic growth, creation of jobs for the youth of the country, giving compliance relief to various sections particularly the revered senior citizens, increasing in the farmers’ income, helping the MSMEs, ameliorating the health infrastructure, and aiming towards the government target of minimum government, maximum governance through asset monetization.
The budget aims at considerably increasing the government spending in infrastructure of the nation. This will not only increase the pace of economic development but also have a cascading effect in the entire economy by spurring demand across all sectors.
Responding to the budget the State party President Arun Sood commended the huge effort made by the Finance Minister and her team in presenting a budget that has taken care to address the concerns of all sections of the society particularly farmers, small industries, senior citizens, SC-STs and deprived sections of the society. The focus on health, education, disadvantaged sections, skill development, migrant workers etc all show that the government is readying itself for India’s role of world leadership.
Former State President and member of Party National Executive Council, CA Sanjay Tandon, who joined digitally as he could not attend in person being out of station, said that this budget has shown the astute financial management of the government wherein the fiscal deficit has been controlled at 9.5% despite the pandemic and the policies of the government in accelerating growth have shown results. He particularly appreciated the increase in the Ujjwala Yojna beneficiaries by another 1 crore. He highlighted the fact that this government in the years 19-20 and 20-21 has the increased the procurement of Wheat, Paddy and Pulses by several fold over the amount of purchase in the year 2013-14 by the UPA govt. The purchase of pulses by this government was an astounding 4000% over 2013-14 and Cotton purchase which was Rs. 90 crores in 2013-14 increased to Rs. 25,974 crores. This clearly shows that the government is committed towards the well being of the farmers.
Spokespersons of the party Dr. Dharinder Tayal and Kailash Jain jointly said that in presenting this budget the government has shown that despite the blow delivered by the Corona pandemic, it is well on its target of making India a $ 5 Trillion economy.
