To commemorate the World First Aid Day, the NSS Unit of the college along with Indian Red Cross Society, Chandigarh paid homage to the founder Henry Dunant and organised a first of it’s kind Mock Drill via a dummy showcasing how innocent lives can be saved with minimum expenditure and human intelligence. Insync with its theme “Not me but you” , the NSS Unit of the college also organised a Blood Donation Camp and Organ Donation Camp ROTTO, PGIMER
to carry forward this noble endeavour inorder to call for and motivate the youth to participate in saving vulnerable lives. A total of 50 units of blood were collected and more than 120 volunterrs pledged to donate their organs.
The Principal of the college, Prof. Rama Arora greeted the Alumnus of the college Dr. Jindal and expressed her heartfelt gratitude to him for coming back to the premises. She shared that Dr. Jindal would be honorary serving his alma mater in the college’s health centre. She also admired the joint collaboration of general hospital with the Red Cross Sociey under the able guidance of Prof. Renu Trikha who has been motivating the youth of the college to come forward to help in healing the society and saving lives especially at that crucial moment when critical first aid is the utmost need.
The principal in particular applauded the efforts of the NSS unit in transforming the village Khuda Ali Sher under the Swachta scheme, an initiative of the PM so as to make earth liveable for the next generation. Mr. Sushil Tng, the trainee supervisor of The Red Cross Society admired the efforts of the NSS volunteers and said that they are the torch bearers who will help in healing the world . Prof. Ranjan Verma, the Dean of the college and the Vice Principal Prof. Anuradha Mittal were also present on the occassion.
