Chandigarh: Boys hostel No-1 residents and NCC Boys Wing, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a cleanliness drive in collaboration at Mehar Chand Mahajan Boys Hostel No.1, here today. The event started with the two minutes silence for Bharat Ratan Awardee Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee and homage was paid to him with a cleanliness drive in his memory. The premises and surrounding of hostel was cleaned and a message to the residents was passed regarding the need of clean and green environment. Dean student welfare Prof. Emanual Nahar, Dr. Rajeev Kumar (Warden, BH-1), Lt. Dr. Kuldeep Singh (NCC Coordinator) and various faculty from different departments also participated in drive. Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice chancellor, Panjab University, Chandigarh also appreciated the initiative taken by the hostel residents and NCC cadets (40 in number).
