Chandigarh, 16th September, 2020:: The GOI is going to conduct Pulse Polio SNID Campaign during COVID times to ensure the Immunization of children in high risk/vulnerable areas, construction sites and areas having mobile housing population like jhuggis etc.
The said Campaign will be spread for a period of 10 days instead of two days which is usually held during non-COVID times. The extended days have been done to ensure safety of children and health workers.
During COVID times, to boost the morale of health teams, Dr. G. Dewan, DH&FW cum MD(NHM) has motivated and encouraged all the team members. Health teams are all geared up to visit vulnerable areas of the City. It is also ensured that all Health workers are being provided with appropriate safety/protective gears and GOI protocols to be followed during Pulse Polio rounds are also shared with all the team Supervisors.
In Chandigarh, the areas to be covered are Khuda Lahora, Khuda Jassu, Khuda Alisher, Sarangpur, Resettlement Colony Dhanas, Kaimbwala, Maloya, Daddumajra, Madrasi Colony, Indira Colony, Bapudham, Mauli Village, Mauli Complex, Vikas Nagar, Manimajra, Colony no 4, Faidan, Hallomajra, Ramdarbar, Attawa, Palsora, Behlana, Raipur Khurd, Kajheri, Kishangarh, Dariya, Attawa, Tin colony, Janta Colony, Bhagwanpura, Citco, Shastri Nagar and all the construction sites.
Pulse Polio Campaigns are being done to win the war of eradicating Polio from the society and to immunize the children in the age group of 0-5 years with Oral Polio Drops.
Health Department appeals to the residents to extend full cooperation in this Sub National Immunization Day Campaign in order to sustain the 100% full Immunization status in future too.
