Chandigarh, August 8:- Sh. Davesh Moudgil, Mayor of Chandigarh inaugurated newly developed Valley park at Milk Colony, Dhanas in presence of, Sh. Gurpreet Singh Dhillion, Senior Deputy Mayor, Smt. Sheela Devi, area councilor, Sh. N. P. Sharma, Supertinding Engineer (B&R), other councilors, officers of MCC and prominent persons of the area.
During the inaugural speech, the Mayor said that Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is developing green belts and parks by providing various latest facilities throughout city and each green belt beholds its own beauty. While talking on Swachhta, he said that every citizen will have to contribute for making the city garbage free and ‘Chandigarh Banega No.1’ campaign. He said that we should take responsibility to not only keep our surroundings and households clean, but also to segregate the garbage at source level.
He said that area residents should take responsibility of maintaining the green belts developed by the MCC equally, because these facilities have been provided for the benefit of local residents.
The park having 3.34 acre area has been developed by providing Children play equipments, huts, benches, high mast lights, ornamental and flowering trees, shrubs and walking track at a cost of Rs. 36 lacs.
